Discipline Policy
Classroom Rules:
1. Be in class and seated in assigned seat when the bell rings.
2. Follow all rules and regulations outlined in the Southwind High School handbook.
3. Respect yourself, your teachers, and your classmates.
4. Be honest in all words and actions.
5. No food or drinks allowed in lab.
6. Follow Shelby County Policy as outlined in the student handbook
Classroom Procedures:
1. Enter class quietly and login to your computer workstation
2. Open class home page and begin bell work
3. If you are late, you must sign in on the Tardy Sign-In sheet on the table
4. Turn off your monitor when Ms. Wood is giving instructions
5. If you finish work early you may go the class homepage and find links to review games
6. Log off your workstation before leaving class
Consequences for Negative Behavior:
1st Offense – Verbal Warning & Meeting with Ms. Wood after class.
2nd Offense – Phone Call Home & Meeting with Ms. Wood after class.
3rd Offense – Parent/ Guardian Conference.
4th Offense – Referral to Discipline Office.
Conduct Grading:
E (Excellent) – Excellent Class Participation, no tardies, exhibits excellent role model behavior
S (Satisfactory) – Good Class Participation, no more than 2 tardies,
N (Needs Improvement) – Multiple meetings with teacher, multiple tardies
U (Unsatisfactory) – Office referral, multiple tardies, OSS
Rewards for Positive Behavior:
Students who exhibit Excellent or Satisfactory in behavior will be given a free homework pass per quarter and the option to have a one free period in class at the end of the semester to play designated games on computer rather than complete an extra PowerPoint presentation.
